What is and where does CBD come from?
Although it is easy for people to believe that CBD and marijuana are the same thing, they are actually very different products. Unlike marijuana, CBD is made from hemp and has no psychoactive properties. There are two main species of Cannabis: Cannabis Indica and Cannabis Sativa. Whilst marijuana can be extracted from both species, hemp can only be extracted from Cannabis Sativa. This means that there are some notable differences between hemp and marijuana. The most important of these is that hemp contains almost no tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). This is the chemical found in marijuana which makes you feel high.

For more chronic issues such as joint pain and mobility, it may take up to 2 weeks for optimal results, especially as you experiment with how high of a dose your dog needs in order to get relief from his symptoms. This is normal for any CBD purchased.

Luckily, if you are using CBD oil that does not contain any THC, it is nearly impossible to overdose your dog with CBD oil as your dog’s body will just pass the excess in its waste. Can CBD increase my pet’s appetite ?
Food and nutrients are essential for a healthy aging dog, and a good diet is especially important when that dog is battling a serious illness. They need food to give their body the strength to fight back, but many health conditions shut down appetite. When they cannot eat, they become weak and are even more vulnerable to whatever kind of damage their illness is causing. CBD oil works to counter this effect by stimulating appetite. Whether it is nausea or a general weariness that is keeping the dog from eating, CBD oil triggers the sensation of hunger. When the dog eats without feeling sick and vomiting the food back up, they absorb much-needed nutrients to help their body stay strong and healthy.
